The group is usually a diverse mix of students with different level of experience. This course is for students who have successfully completed their Alliance certified 300 hours Yoga Teacher Training and would like to deepen their practice.  Since it is an intensive course, students are requested to come forth with any individual practice or curriculum related issues they might have. All of Jeevmoksha’s instructors aim to make sure that each student achieves her individual learning objective. You will share the yoga hall with 10 to 12 different students. A majority of the class is composed of female students.

We have different in house instructors for different subjects. Except for Yogacharya Vinay, no other teacher teaches two different subjects. Our teachers are also in-house, meaning they do not teach in other schools. All the instructors are well qualified and have over 5 to 10 years of teaching in their respective fields. Our instructors are very friendly and approachable, so please do not hesitate in contacting them for any issues you might have. They will be extremely happy to guide you.

Our 300 Hours Yoga Teacher Training Jeevmoksha Ashram is located away from the noisy Tapovan area.  Please note that 200 hours and 300 hours courses are conducted in different Ashram buildings i.e. Ganesha Ashram (For 200 hours), and Rama Ashram (For 300 Hours)  respectively. However, the two ashrams are very close to each other. The town is located 10 minutes walking distance from the Rama Ashram. Laxman Jhula is approximately 15 minutes. From Laxman Jhula, you can take a tour around Ram Jhula and Swargashram. The river Ganges and all the restaurants and souvenir shops in the Tapovan area are located very close to the Ashram.

The Rama Ashram has 8 rooms in two floors. All the rooms have private bathrooms. The rooms don’t have A.C. but fans, which serve well during summer time. The yoga shala is located on the topmost floor and is well ventilated. The yoga shala has enough space for 12 students to practice comfortably, without encroaching in each other’s personal space. The dining hall is on the ground floor and students meet at the dining hall during their meal time to share each other’s experience.

Only pure vegetarian food is served in the Ashram. We serve Vegan, fruitarian and other diets based on a student’s preference. If you have a special diet preference, please let us know prior to your arrival so that we can make necessary arrangements. Smoking and drinking is strictly prohibited in the Ashram. If you want to smoke, you have to walk a bit further from the ashram. Also, please make sure that no flame is left unattended.

The program is registered by Yoga Alliance and after you complete your training, you will be awarded a 300 hours Yoga Teacher Training Certificate recognized by the Yoga Alliance. There will be an examination to test your skills, however, those who follow by the Ashram rules and attend all the classes, tend to do well in the exams. After receiving the certificate, should you choose, you can register in the Yoga Alliance to be listed as a certified yoga teacher.

Yogacharya Vinay

(Yoga Philosophy)

Acharya Vinay was born  into a Brahmin family where yoga was a household virtue and his grandfather passed his legacy to his father in form of traditional values of yoga, astrology and dharma. He started studying the scriptures on Veda, Upanishads and Yoga under his father at the early age of 12. It is still a tradition in India, that such disciplines are passed on from generation to generation. The seeds were sown very early, but as like every seed, it took time to ripe out. It got ripe with the initiation by his Guru Yogi Rudranath of Himalayas and acharya was inclined towards a spiritual outlook of life.

While being a child, he was blessed with the opportunity of being in the satsang of several saints and spiritual teachers from different walks of life. Among those were karma yogis and swamis who provided a healthy fertilizer for the seed which was sown earlier.  He was driven onto this sacred path of acquiring the yogic knowledge under his father whom he considers to be his first guru who gave all the foundational values. And later he was initiated by Guru Rudranath of nath tradition consolidating the resolve and providing him further guidance. Acharya ascribes Jeevmoksha as a vision transferred from Rudranth ji for promoting yoga and allied systems all over.

By family lines acharya is also a disciple of the ancient Sri Vidya tradition of Tantra. It’s the oldest followed sect in India which is established on the principles of Shakti and her attributes. Adi Shakti is the name for goddess and she is considered to be the divine mother from which this whole existence emerges. Shakti is worshipped in her nine forms each being responsible for one aspect of the universe.

(Meditation Instructor)

Divya is a post graduate of Yogic Sciences from Sanskrit University of Uttarakhand. She focus on women’s health by incorporating the techniques of asanas, pranayama, mantras and light meditations. She conducts yoga classes for prenatal and postnatal conditions for women with a very gentle and simple approach and most of her lessons are a direct outcome of her own personal experience of the stages of pregnancy and the later recovery periods. She also conducts live cooking classes and demos on yogic cuisine.

(Hatha Yoga Asanas, Pranayama)

April 28th 2018,  “Prateek, you are the hardest person to say goodbye to. It has been such an amazing month mainly due to your efforts, time and dedication. You are so much more than a teacher of Asana, everything that made this experience extra special you helped to make happen. You have such a fun and playful energy I admire so much. You truly helped me shed a few layers, loosen up (physically and emotionally), which allowed me to see myself more clearly. You opened up a part of me that had been hiding for some time now. Thank you for being you, I will miss you deeply. – With love, Jennifer  *banana*

(Yoga Anatomy)

Praful is an extremely hard-working individual who is prepared to do everything necessary to help the students understand Yoga in scientific manner. He can share and link the mystic importance of Yoga very much with its scientific application that teaches in Yoga, to help students understand  the depth of the discipline.

His experience and reviews can be read here: yogicananatomywithpraful

(Asana Instructor)

Sandeep is an experienced Hatha Yoga instructor, with over 5 years of experience in teaching students from all over the world.

Why are the Ashrams different?

To maintain a close-knit community, we have different spaces for different students. Both 200 and 300 hours of student live and practice separately. Although they sometimes get together during the excursions. Also, we prefer teaching a small class to make sure that the students get the maximum out of the course. Having different locations help us in achieving this.

What are the spiritual development session?

Spiritual development sessions are usually a part of the yogic philosophy, in which, in addition to the course lectures, we also touch upon the spiritual aspect of yoga. The sessions may include Satsang/Keertan sessions etc. The classes are conducted by Acharya Vinay.

Is the Environment safe?

Jeevmoksha is a family environment. Most of the students in our batch are females who travel alone from far flung places. The Ashram is a family environment and completely safe.

How traditional is the teachings at Jeevmoksha? I have no prior knowledge of Vedic traditions, would I be comfortable joining a YTT program?

The core teachings in Jeevmoksha is based on traditional knowledge of Yoga. However, the school has to adhere to somewhat modified curriculum due to the nature of the students and the fact that the course is certified by the alliance and the school has to stick with the curriculum.

Having said that, the knowledge we impart here is based on traditional methods of yoga as mentioned in old texts. Our philosophy is to stick to our traditions and therefore we do not teach any present day modifications of yoga. However, the duration of the program is limited, which restricts us to go extremely deep in any particular subject in the course. We, however, try to make sure the students achieve their learning objective in the course.
